Creflo Dollar: Invest in Your Imagination

Invest in Your Imagination - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

All human progress was born out of the imagination. Progress came because of someone’s ability to see things differently from the way they were. The only way humans can see the past or the future—unaided—is through their imagination. Without imagination, man would be completely limited.

I’m sharing this information about the imagination because I want you to understand how meditating on God’s promises and using your imagination can lead to great success in life. When you meditate on the Word—which is spiritual—that Word is digested in your spirit. And when you imagine a thing, something is taking place in your heart. Your mind and your heart are working in concert to create images. They’re connected by the bridge called the imagination.

I did this years ago when I was a 24-year old young preacher. We were trying to obtain the building on our current property that we now call “The Chapel.” When the building went up for sale, nothing in the natural favored us being able to purchase it. We were a young, small church, and we didn’t have enough money. So when it went up for sale, I got a picture of the building and put it on our refrigerator and around the house. I would prayer over that picture, look at that building, meditate on scriptures, and then close my eyes. I did that over and over again until one day, when I closed my eyes, I could vividly see the building—the windows, the colors and vertical shapes of the windows, the steeple, the sides of the building, and so on. Then one day I saw myself opening the door to the building! Uh-huh, look out now! Now, I’m carrying the image around on the inside of me and waiting on the Holy Spirit to show me what to do. Nothing can be restrained from you when you have an image on the inside of you! (Genesis 11:6). To make a long story short, we ended up doing owner financing, we got in the building with a $2,000 a month note, and soon paid that thing off!

Creflo Dollar: Who Does This?

Who Does This? - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

Do you fully comprehend the awesome, perfect love that God has for you? The Bible tells us that while we were yet dead in sins and trespasses, Christ died for us. “But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us” (Romans 5:8, AMP). Christ died for us because of His perfect love for us.

The New Testament is not about how much you love God but how much He loves you. In the new covenant of grace, God did not intend to burden us with a bunch of rules and regulations, where everyone is judging everyone else. The new covenant is all about having an intimate, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.

I think that’s what the Church is missing today. We come to church to get biblical principles to live by, but we don’t see Jesus. I love principles, and I thank God for principles. But principles aren’t going to do you any good if you don’t start at first base. How can you live by principles and not understand the primary, most rooted issue of life—which is understanding the love that God has for you? What do you think will happen when a bunch of Christians start depending on the overflow of love that God has for them? We’ll take this world and turn it “right side” up for the kingdom of God!

In Hebrews 8:10 God says, “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” God has written the law of love on the heart of every born-again person. When God writes this love on your heart, and in your mind, the first thing that happens is that you fall deeply in love with Jesus. When you fall in love with Jesus, that love is going to overflow into all of your relationships. This is how God equips us to fulfill John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

Pornography: The Fear of Real Intimacy in Action

Pornography: The Fear of Real Intimacy in Action - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

If you drive down most busy city streets in metropolitan areas across the country, there is one thing you are sure to see—the flashing lights of adult entertainment establishments. There is no shortage of sexually explicit material available to the general public at any given time. Whether it is the neighborhood strip club, the pornography shop that sells hardcore movies and magazines, or XXX rated web sites on the Internet, pornography has become common place in our society. In fact, it is a multi-billion dollar industry that continues to grow in response to the lustful demands of the public. Pornographers, and the people involved in the sex industry, push the lie that says this type of entertainment is harmless fun. However, in reality, it is far from harmless. Truthfully, pornography is merely an attempt to create the illusion of intimacy, while falling terribly short of that goal. It is actually born out of a fear of real intimacy with others, and ultimately leads to emotional isolation and despair.

How does a person become hooked on pornography and what role does fear play in that process? In order to understand this better, we must first look at the heart of mankind and how a person’s carnal desires, which are based in selfishness, are what the enemy uses to draw him or her addictive behavior. Jeremiah 17:9 says something very interesting, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” When he talks about the “heart” here, he is referring to our unrenewed spirit, which is ruled by carnality, along with the unrenewed mind, also known as the “flesh.” Before we were born again, we possessed this unrenewed spirit. As a result, we were subject to the lusts and appetites that were a part of our carnal nature. However, when we made Jesus the Lord of our lives, our spirits were recreated and reconnected to the life of God, making us free from sin.

Creflo Dollar: The First Begotten Son

The First Begotten Son - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo A. Dollar

When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you became born again. That simply means that your spirit was transformed from a state of spiritual death to life in a split second of time. But have you ever considered that Jesus went through the exact same thing? Often, in the midst of our religious views of Him, we forget that He was actually the first person to ever become born again. That’s right. He suffered what He did on the cross so that He could become the prototype for the new creation. He was the first begotten son of Almighty God.

In order to understand the new creation experience, it is essential to realize why this whole thing had to happen. When Adam committed high treason in the Garden of Eden by turning his authority over to Satan, death, sin and the curse entered the earth. Adam’s connection to God was immediately severed, and Satan became his god instead. Romans 5:19 says, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” There was nothing anyone could do or not do to be a sinner; the only qualification was to be born.

God knew that Adam would sin. Therefore, from the beginning, He established a plan to restore mankind back to perfect fellowship with Him. He sent Jesus to the earth to accomplish the task. Jesus’ birth had to be a supernatural one because if He were born of a woman and a man, He wouldn’t be able to be a spotless sacrifice; every person born of a woman was already spiritually dead. So God supernaturally impregnated the Virgin Mary so that Jesus could have what I call “blood type G,” or God’s blood type.

There’s a reason why Jesus is your big Brother—He was the first man to ever be born again, or spiritually recreated from death to life. He set the precedent for you and me. When Jesus died on the cross and descended into the depths of hell to pay the price for your sins, He died both physically and spiritually (Romans 10:7). In those agonizing moments, Jesus became sin, and His heavenly Father turned His back on His Son (Matthew 27:46).
